The blend includes wild jujube seed, coix seed and polygala. Ross developed it for the transition from a busy day to bedtime, with scent as part of the experience. Think of applying the patches as the start of your evening routine: put your phone away, pick up a book and give yourself time to settle.
Ross J. Barr is a registered acupuncturist (BSc Hons, MBAcC) whose practice covers women’s health, fertility, stress and grief. His introduction to acupuncture was personal: after his father died suddenly, he sought treatment to help him cope with the loss. The experience led him to retrain as a practitioner.
He specialises in Five Element Acupuncture. In 2020, he launched his patch range to bring part of his approach into everyday routines beyond the treatment room. Herbal blends, scent and placement inspired by acupuncture are central to the range.
Apply one patch to each clean, dry temple about 15 minutes before winding down. Gently massage for one or two minutes to help release the herbs. Leave on overnight and remove in the morning.
At the recommended two patches per night, a pack gives you five nights. Each patch is for a single use.
Responses vary. They are designed to support a bedtime routine; a good night’s sleep cannot be guaranteed. Ask a clinician about ongoing sleep difficulties.
Keep the application area clean and dry. Wait 48 hours after using retinol or a skin peel on that area.
