Ross J. Barr Period Patches are warming herbal patches designed to support comfort during menstrual cramps and aches. Place one at the base of your back and wear it discreetly under your clothes while you go about your day.

The patches combine a herbal blend with a warming sensation for period discomfort. Their shape is designed for placement over the sacrum at the base of your back, following Ross’s acupuncture approach. They were developed with help from staff at Claire Mellon & Associates, a gynaecology and obstetric practice at The Portland Hospital in London.
Ross J. Barr is a registered acupuncturist (BSc Hons, MBAcC) whose practice covers women’s health, fertility, stress and grief. His introduction to acupuncture was personal: after his father died suddenly, he sought treatment to help him cope with the loss. The experience led him to retrain as a practitioner.
He specialises in Five Element Acupuncture. In 2020, he launched his patch range to bring part of his approach into everyday routines beyond the treatment room. Herbal blends, scent and placement inspired by acupuncture are central to the range.
Clean and dry the skin. Peel away the backing and place the patch centrally at the base of your back, following the diagram on your pack, or on the area of discomfort. Remove no later than eight hours after applying. Keep out of direct sunlight.
The brand describes a warming sensation from the herbal oils. How strongly you feel it can vary. Remove the patch if it feels uncomfortable or irritates your skin.
Yes. The patches are thin and lightweight, so you can wear one under everyday clothing.
Period is designed specifically for menstrual discomfort and placement at the lower back. Healing is a larger rectangular patch for local muscle aches and other areas of discomfort.
They are not a substitute for medicines or medical devices. Ask a clinician about severe, new or persistent period pain.
Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or diabetic. They are unsuitable for infants and for red, swollen, irritated or broken skin.
For external use only. The brand lists use for adults and children above 12; consult a doctor for younger children. Follow the pack’s usage limits (no more than three applications daily for seven days). Ask a clinician before use if you have sensitive skin or ingredient allergies. Tingling or a rash can occur; remove if irritation develops.
